Fillide

Inspired by Phyllis (Fillide) from Greek mythology, this wall sculpture explores themes of love, transformation, and renewal. Constructed from hundreds of folded magazine pages, the work combines intricate geometric patterns with vibrant colours created through hand-applied spray painted paper. Five radiant circular forms emerge from the composition, each centred with blue mosaic tesserae that act as focal points. The diamond-shaped structure creates a dynamic interplay of light, texture, and shadow. By transforming discarded printed materials into a richly detailed relief, Fillide celebrates resilience, beauty, and rebirth through contemporary sculptural abstraction.
